Даний переклад є першим повним перекладом цього твору українською мовою. Щодо мого перекладу, то я не професійний перекладач, навіть не шкільний філолог. Дану книгу я сприймаю як філософський трактат, тому переклади деяких назв та слів-термінів може відрізнятися від загальновживаного. In the 225 years since the United States Constitution was first drafted, no single book has addressed the key questions of what constitutions are designed to do, how they are structured, and why they matter. In From Words to Worlds, constitutional scholar Beau Breslin corrects this glaring oversight, singling out the essential functions that a modern, written constitution must incorporate in order to serve as a nation's fundamental law. Food Safety is an increasingly important issue. Numerous food crises have occurred internationally in recent years (the use of the dye Sudan Red I; the presence of acrylamide in various fried and baked foods; mislabelled or unlabelled genetically modified foods; and the outbreak of variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease) originating in both primary agricultural production and in the food manufacturing industries. Public concern at these and other events has led government agencies to implement a variety of legislative actions covering many aspects of the food chain. This book presents and compares the HACCP and ISO 22000:2005 food safety management systems. These systems were introduced to improve and build upon existing systems in an attempt to address the kinds of failures which can lead to food crises. Numerous practical examples illustrating the application of ISO 22000 to the manufacture of food products of animal origin are presented in this extensively-referenced volume. After an opening chapter which introduces ISO 22000 and compares it with the well-established HACCP food safety management system, a summary of international legislation relating to safety in foods of animal origin is presented. The main part of the book is divided into chapters which are devoted to the principle groups of animal-derived food products: dairy, meat, poultry, eggs and seafood. Chapters are also included on catering and likely future directions. The book is aimed at food industry managers and consultants; government officials responsible for food safety monitoring; researchers and advanced students interested in food safety.

Słownik skierowany jest nie tylko dla uczniów, ale też do szerszego grona osób, które są zainteresowane pochodzeniem i historią wyrazów. Celem publikacji jest ukazanie podstawowego zasobu słownictwa współczesnej polszczyzny, w tym również niektórych form potocznych.

How did two of the world’s most populous countries emerge from a shared colonial legacy with radically divergent and historically enduring political regimes? Investigating that question has been my professional preoccupation for the last decade. That I have finally crafted an answer in the form of this book is a testament to the extraordinary support of a great many individuals and institutions. As such, I would be remiss not to acknowledge some of the hands that have steadied my progress and encouraged my spirits along the gratifying path to the book’s completion. The earliest seed of this project formed over a decade ago when I spent six months working in Dhaka for a microfinance organization. At the time, I was struck by the considerable political differences between Bangladesh and India, despite their common colonial legacy. The idea of systematically exploring the origins of these differences germinated during my enrollment in Atul Kohli’s graduate course the Comparative Political Economy of Development, at Princeton. This engaging and provocative course, which asked ambitious questions about the origins of worldwide patterns of economic development, charted the kind of bold intellectual terrain that inspired my enrollment in a political science doctoral program and that directly led to the writing of this book.

Гадаємо, що це видання стане в пригоді науковцям, краєзнавцям, учителям, юним історикам та географам — усім, хто цікавиться історією рідного краю.

Імунодефіцитні захворювання поділяють на дві основні групи: природжені (первинні) та набуті (вторинні).Первинні імунодефіцити спричинені мутаціями генів, що кодують важливі для роботи імун- ної системи молекули рецепторів, коре цепторів, цитокінів, молекули МНС, ферментів метаболізму, компонентів системи комплементу тощо. Завдяки таким своєрідним «експериментам природи», як імунодефіцити, можна встановити роль певних молекул у функціонуванні імун ної системи та організму людини в цілому. Первинні імунодефіцити, як правило, виявляються у людей невдовзі після наро дження. Вторинні імунодефіцити розвиваються внаслідок дії на організм шкідливих чинників навколишнього середовища (недостатність харчування, вживання цитотоксичних хімічних речовин, опромінення, інфекційні агенти). Вторинні імунодефіцити розвиваються після реалізації ефекту ушкодження екзогенними чинниками імунної системи. Загальними проявами імунодефіцитів є підвищення чутливості до інфекцій різного походження та підвищення ризику виникнення лоякісних пухлин.
