The Photographic Atlas of the Moon is a daily photographic guide to observing the features of the Moon through a 40cm telescope and high-resolution, low-speed film. Whole Moon images are provided for each day of the 29-day lunar cycle, with labelled features and descriptive text. Обсуждены результаты исследований атмосферы, поверхности и верхнего слоя грунта Марса на основе предварительного анализа данных измерений при помощи аппаратуры, установленной на орбитальном и спускаемом аппаратах АМС «Викинг-1, -2». Полученные результаты содержат обширную информацию о структурных параметрах и составе атмосферы. Большое число изображений с орбиты и поверхности планеты позволило значительно углубить существующие представления об особенностях структуры и минералогии поверхности Марса. Впервые получен обширный комплекс данных прямых измерений на поверхности планеты, характеризующих свойства поверхности и нижних слоев атмосферы. Рассмотренные результаты имеют важное значение для понимания закономерностей погоды и климата на Марсе, открывают новые перспективы с точки зрения сравнительной метеорологии планет.
