Purpose. The article is devoted to the investigation of factors influencing labour productivity of machine-building enterprises in mining industry and to their evaluation in order to increase the competitiveness. To develop ways to increase the competitiveness of engineering enterprises within the same mining industry by the means of increasing their labour productivity. To determine the relationship between labour productivity at engineering enterprises of mining industry and return on assets as well as return on sales using correlation analysis. To ground and to explain the indicator of labour as basis for the formulation of quantitative and qualitative indicators used in further assessment of production competitiveness at machine-building enterprises. Methodology. The study uses the methods of analysis and synthesis, deduction and induction (in determining the factors affecting company's productivity), systematization and generalization (to clarify the relationship between living and materialized labour, to suggest new ways to increase productivity and, thus, enhance enterprises' competitiveness), correlation analysis (in determining the relationship between labour productivity at machine-building enterprises of mining industry and the indicators of return on assets and return on sales). Findings. Impacts on productivity of machine-building enterprises within the mining industry are analysed and explained. Forms of labour productivity are investigated on the sample of these enterprises. Ways for further improvement are determined concerning the increased productivity of these enterprises that are producing equipment for the mining industry which include: improving the organization of production and labour through formation of labour force possessing newest qualifications; transformation of factors of macroeconomic environment of these enterprises, especially those of ecological sphere; structural transformation of production, aimed at modernization of fixed assets; creation and development of necessary social infrastructure; ensuring business competitiveness based on the definition of marginal productivity. The authors suggest new directions of increasing enterprises' competitiveness through implementation of following measures: revision of the key competitive strategies; increase in revenue through higher prices and raised marketing spendings; cost cutting; reduction of illiquid assets; combining all these methods from above. It is also recommended to ensure these enterprises' competitiveness on the basis of determining their marginal productivity. The degree of influence of return on assets and sales margins on productivity of machine-building enterprises within the mining industry is established using correlation analysis.

Purpose. Formation of methodological foundations for assessing the innovative development potential of an industrial enterprise. The rationale for the use of a comprehensive system of indicators that will allow conducting assessment of the ability of its innovative development, identifying the risks and threats that affect the innovative activity of the enterprise. Definition of an approach to assessing not only quantitative indicators, but also qualitative ones regarding the innovative development potential of an industrial enterprise. Methodology. In the research process, the following general scientific and applied research methods were used: analysis and synthesis, deduction and induction were used to determine factors of influence on the internal and external environment of an industrial enterprise; systematization and generalization for calculating the generalizing indicator; expert assessments - when determining factors of influence on the internal and external environment of an industrial enterprise; multidimensional scaling - when calculating a complex indicator of the potential for innovative development of an industrial enterprise. Findings. The methodological foundations for assessing the potential for innovative development of an industrial enterprise have been formed using an integrated approach to assessing its innovative development, which, unlike existing approaches, including assessing the financial condition of an enterprise and evaluating the internal and external factors of innovative activity of a business entity, makes it possible to substantiate a strategy for innovative development of an industrial enterprise. It is proposed to evaluate the innovative potential of enterprises on the basis of two groups of indicators: quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the assessment of the external and internal environment. The first group of indicators for assessing the external environment is represented by the following factors: market parameters, socio-economic trends in the external environment, competition within the industry, the influence of buyers and suppliers. The second group of indicators for assessing the internal environment is represented by the following factors: technical, technological, material, innovative, financial, personnel, information, marketing and organizational. It is proposed to use the multidimensional scaling method to determine a comprehensive indicator for assessing the innovative potential of an industrial enterprise. Such an approach to assessing allows developing a scientifically based basis for constructing an effective innovation strategy and a strategic management system for innovative activities of an enterprise. Originality. A comprehensive methodological approach to assessing the innovative development potential of an industrial enterprise has been substantiated, which, unlike existing approaches, includes assessing the financial condition of an enterprise and evaluating the internal and external factors of innovative activity of a business entity, which makes it possible to substantiate the innovative development strategy of an industrial enterprise using multidimensional scaling. Practical value. The methodological basis for assessing the innovative development potential of an industrial enterprise and the research results can be used for further scientific developments in this direction, as well as in the practical activities of industrial enterprises to assess their innovative potential and formulation of development strategies. The methodological approach to assessing the innovative development potential of an industrial enterprise is based on an integrated approach to assessing quantitative and qualitative indicators.

Purpose. Development of a methodology for substantiating a green approach in the formation of a sustainable system of ecological logistics. Methodology. In the research process the following general scientific and applied research methods were used: correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between CO2 emissions and consumption of major energy sources; regression analysis - to determine the main trends in CO2 emissions for the main regions of the world; the methodology for calculating emissions from fuel combustion by road transport - for assessing CO2 emissions by various modes of transport; the improved methodology for assessing gas emissions and calculating the CO2 emission factor - when forming a ring route during the transportation of goods. Findings. The work studies global trends in the dynamics of changes in carbon emissions by areas of activity. Trend forecasting models have been developed for changes in the dynamics of carbon emissions for the main industrial regions of the world. Using the correlation-regression analysis of the relationship between the increase in the dynamics of CO2 emissions and the consumption of energy resources of the world in the context of the world's major industrial regions, significant relationships were found between carbon emissions and the consumption of major energy sources. The work provides a methodological approach to determining the level of carbon emissions from vehicles and accounting for the carbon emission factor in the formation of logistics routes and tariffs for road transport in the context of the formation of sustainable systems of ecological logistics. As part of the methodological approach implementation, CO2 emissions for road transport were estimated and calculations were performed for different types of cars. It was proposed to include the carbon emission factor in the calculation of the tariff for road transport, which will make it possible to form target funds at enterprises as part of the creation of a sustainable system of environmental logistics. Originality. The methodological approach has been substantiated to determining indicators of the sustainability of ecological logistics systems in the context of developing a methodology for calculating CO2 emissions, which makes it possible to solve the problem of forming transport routes taking into account environmental requirements in the field of reducing CO2 emissions by various modes of transport. Practical value. The proposed methodological approach to calculating emissions from fuel combustion by road, including the assessment of CO2 emissions and the calculation of the carbon emission factor when forming a ring route during the transportation of goods is recommended for use by scientists, specialists and practitioners in the field of green logistics.
