At the center of this article is the activity of the monk's from the Order st. Basil Magnum (OSBM) at the spheres of culture, economics and politics. The members of OSBM attached great importance to the development of spiritual life of the masses at that period. They participated in other directions of the social work. Basilians strived for reinforcement positions of Ukrainians in the resisting wish Polish politics. On the basis of the data gathered in Shevchenko Library and Archives in London, which are introducing to the scientific public for the first time, the author analysed one of the main directions of the social work of the central Ukrainian organization in the United Kingdom - the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB) - the information - public and cultural - educational activities in 1946 - 1949. A special attention is focus on the publishing of the United Kingdom's only Ukrainian - language weekly, Ukrainska Dumka, and the foundation of the finest Ukrainian folk choir and dance group established in local branches of the AUGB.

In the article there are analyzing problems of international cultural integration and differentiation, particulation of cultures in the globalization conditions. These processes form the dialectical anti-word which is taken as a motive power of the cultures change with the same saving of its basic principles. The historical and social-cultural experience proves that the most detailed process of cultural integration is globalization. This doesn't avoid the cultures differentiation which is presented as the same objective process as integration. The article concludes that even when common structures of the global culture are existing particuliarization, localization of their sense and functioning are taking place in local cultures.
