As a result of the carried out tests it was ascertained that wildly growing sea-buckthorn fruit in Georgia is distinguished with high content of vitamins, carotenoids and other substances. Content of tocopherol is also high, that distinguishes the Georgian sea-buckthorn fruit from European, Asian and Caucasian ones. The principal adipose acids of the fruit oil are palmitinic, palmitoleic and oleic acids. Georgian population of sea-buckthorn 4 - 5 times exceeds by content of oleic acid in fruit all populations of continental sea-buckthorns. On the basis of obtained results local populations of sea-buckthorn may be recommended for gaining raw material.
