On the basis of the Landau criterion, the question on critical velocities of superfluid motion is considered in a two-component homogeneous weakly nonideal Bose gas with a contact interaction between particles. It is shown that under the motion of components with different velocities the velocity of each component is not needed to be lower than the minimum phase velocity of elementary excitations in a still condensate. In that case the Landau criterion yields a joint condition for the velocities of components and their relative directions. It is found that the maximum value of the critical velocity of a given component can be reached when the other component does not move or both components move in the directions perpendicular to each other. The results are generalized to the case of particles with a long-range interaction, as well as to the case of an inhomogeneous two-component Bose gas confined in a cylindrical harmonic potential. It is shown that in these cases the behavior of the critical velocities is qualitatively the same as that in the homogeneous two-component system with a contact interaction.
